Liquid Storing Plastic Rolls are multi-layer laminated flexible packaging films supplied on rolls, specifically engineered for packaging liquid, semi-liquid, and viscous products. Unlike standard flexible packaging films used for dry products (powders, granules, snacks), liquid packaging films feature specialized layer structures — typically including a PA (nylon) layer for puncture resistance and a PE (polyethylene) layer for moisture barrier and heat-seal integrity — to withstand the unique demands of filling, handling, and distributing liquid products.
These film rolls are fed into VFFS (Vertical Form Fill Seal) machines or HFFS (Horizontal Form Fill Seal) machines that form, fill, and seal pouches at high speed. Standard flexible packaging films are designed for dry, free-flowing products. Liquid packaging imposes a fundamentally different set of demands:
Puncture resistance. Liquid products shift and surge inside the package during handling and transport. A film without adequate nylon (PA) content can puncture or tear under pressure. Liquid packaging films incorporate a PA core layer to absorb impact and maintain package integrity.
Moisture and oxygen barrier. Many liquid products — sauces, juices, dairy — are sensitive to moisture loss or gain and oxygen ingress. The PE layer in liquid packaging film provides moisture barrier protection, while PET or VMPET layers add oxygen barrier for extended shelf life.
Heat-seal reliability under wet conditions. Liquid packaging requires consistent seal integrity even when the sealing surface is exposed to product residue (oils, acids, sugars). Standard films may seal poorly in these conditions; liquid packaging films are engineered with modified PE seal layers to maintain seal strength across a wide range of liquid product types.
Flexibility and formability. Liquid pouches — especially stand-up pouches (doypacks) — require films that can form a gusset at the base and maintain their shape when filled. Liquid packaging films are formulated for superior flexibility without cracking or delaminating at fold points.
Chemical resistance. Acidic products (tomato-based sauces, citrus dressings), oily products (cooking oils, salad dressings), and alkaline products (some sauces, dairy alternatives) each challenge film chemistry differently. Liquid packaging film structures are selected to resist chemical interaction with the specific product being packaged.
